Bill Holby joined King & Spalding in 1979 and was a partner in the firm's Global Finance practice, resident in the Atlanta office, until his retirement in 2019. Mr. Holby represented financial institutions, as well as state and local governmental authorities, in debt capital markets transactions, with a focus on providing the full range of public finance services to state and local governments, public authorities, and other beneficiaries of municipal bond transactions.

Mr. Holby graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1976, earning three varsity letters as a member of the Vanderbilt football team and playing in the 1974 Peach Bowl in Atlanta. He holds a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt School of Law. Mr. Holby was President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and was inducted into the American College of Bond Counsel, where he served on the College's Board of Directors.

In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Holby has also been active in the Atlanta community. He served as a member of the Metro Atlanta YMCA Board of Directors for over 25 years, including a four-year term as Board Chair, and also served as Board Chair of the national YMCA Retirement Fund, which oversees retirement assets for over 100,000 constituents across North America. Mr. Holby served for over ten years as a member of the Salvation Army's Atlanta Advisory Board. He serves as a member of the Atlanta Mission (homeless service provider) Board of Directors, on the Board of Advisors of Elevate-Atlanta, a youth-supporting organization that seeks to build long-term, life-changing relationships with urban youth, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the J. Bulow Campbell Foundation.

Bill and his wife, Stephanie, were married in 1977, and have four children and ten grandchildren. Bill, Stephanie, and their family have been involved in the ministries of Perimeter Church (PCA) for many years, joining the original congregation in 1980 before participating with other Perimeter Church members in the planting of two new congregations in Atlanta — Intown Community Church and Christ Church Presbyterian. They are currently members of Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church, where Bill serves on the Session. Bill was ordained as an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America in 1986.
